Just found another solution. In case it helps others, I’ll describe it. I had a more specific problem than described in your troubleshooter here: I had no sound through my Surface 3 docking station (though the same speakers worked fine connected directly to the Surface). Here’s the solution that worked: power down the Surface, undock it, and then – wait for it – *unplug the power cord from the docking station.* Then plug the power back in, dock the Surface, and power-up. Go figure. It’s like I’m back in 1983 where the solution to anything was always “hit the big red switch.”

(Maybe things have changed on MS’s download site since this was originally written.) Is it possible to provide more particular direction on where will I find the audio drivers folder?

You likely not installing the correct driver. Use this guide as a reference to install a new driver https://pureinfotech.com/fix-wifi-connectivity-issue-wireless-adapter-windows-10/ You can also try to connect a USB adapter to Ethernet to connect your Surface Pro 3 online to download the driver automatically.

Thanks,
Mauro

I will repeat this whenever I encounter sound issue on my Surface Pro 3. This time I time repeat the steps. Unfortunately, I accidentally click “Delete the driver software for this device”. :'(
I tried to download the driver pack and install manually. But it does’t work.
Any idea how can I fix this?
